ALMA DOEPEL EDUCATION

While the ship is being restored, Alma Doepel’s Youth Development Programme is also being rebuilt.  It is envisaged that when Alma is once again gracing the horizon of Port Phillip, the youth of Victoria will have access to a world class youth leadership and education programme.  This programme will be closely linked with Australia’s National Curriculum and provide participants with a multifaceted learning experience.

Prior to this, however, Alma Doepel still has much to offer your students.

This is a unique opportunity to witness the rebuild of a vessel with such important historical links to Victoria and Australia. The restoration site is at Shed 2, North Wharf Road, Victoria Harbour, Docklands VIC 3008.  

Whether you are completing a unit on:

The Alma Doepel restoration project would present an ideal excursion destination or simply an unique end of year activity.  Students will be taken through the working shed and shown footage of the restoration process. Alma volunteers will also address questions about Alma’s history, the restoration and future endeavours.

This is truly a rare learning experience
