The Future

How do you build resilience, leadership, self awareness and interpersonal skills…?

How do you build resilience, leadership, self awareness and interpersonal skills…? At sea, ‘before the mast’, with young people as trainee members of the crew aboard historic wooden 1903 Topsail Schooner, Alma Doepel, the very last of her kind. Based in Melbourne, Alma Doepel took thousands of young people to sea during the 1980s and 90s and for many of them changed their lives, always for the better.

We know from experience that the programs delivered onboard the Alma Doepel build leadership and teamwork. We also know they can help overcome adversity, reduce youth suicide and help turn young lives around.

We believe in recognising our supporters and the attached Sponsorship Prospectus sets out ways in which your (Foundation/Company/Fund) can have recognition on the ship and a lasting legacy in helping build young lives.

Once the Alma Doepel is again operating on the Victorian Coast the following opportunities will become available:

  • Youth Development programs
  • Leadership and corporate training programs
  • Day Sails
  • Adventure Programs on the Victorian coastline
  • Family connect programs
  • Educational Programs inline with the School curriculum
  • Duke of Edinburgh Programs
